I am a qualified Accountant with an MBA and have over 20 years experience in senior management and leadership positions within education settings.
I am currently the Vice Principal - Finance and Corporate Services at Blackburn College, where I have been for almost three years. I have responsibility for leading and influencing the corporate decisions which impact on the College's financial health, plus Corporate Services, which includes Student Support, Business Development, Commercial, Human Resources, Estates, IT & MIS, Marketing, Catering, Libraries and funding contracts. My key priority is the student experience and ensuring that the campus and all the support services provide a high quality service. My role also requires me to have a detailed understanding of Ofsted and other inspection regimes.
My previous roles include being Deputy Principal – Finance and Funding at Myerscough College for nine years, plus Senior Resource Planner and Group Accountant at UCLAN where I worked for 10 years. I am also the Further / Higher Education Member on the Lancashire County Council Pension Committee, a member of the ‘Making Rooms’ Advisory Board and have strong links with the senior management at Blackburn with Darwen Council.
